Marcel’s 5th office has opened in Sydney with founder David Nobay at the creative helm; chief executive officer Gavin Levinsohn (Publicis); executive creative director, Scott Huebscher (ex-Leo Burnett); digital head, Kim Hopwood (ex-Pusher); head of content, Holly Alexander (ex-Droga5 Sydney); director of client services, Ryan Bernal (ex-Publicis Mojo), and chief strategy officer, Iona Macgregor (ex-Marcel paris where she was managing director and head of strategy).
Marcel is Publicis’ flagship creative and digital agency, whose name is currently attached to the very awarded campaign, Inglorious Fruits & Vegetables, for Intermarche, created by head office, Paris. Marcel Paris was the most awarded agency at Cannes Lions last year and holds the #3 position in the global ranking, Contagious Pioneers of 2016.
Charles Georges-Picot, Marcel’s global chief executive officer, explained, “Marcel is not like any other agency; it’s a culture that we are slowly spreading around the world with key individuals working as one team globally. The new agency, which takes its name from Marcel Bleustein-Blanchet, the original founder of Publicis, is the creative engine of Publicis Sydney and will work beside other Publicis businesses including incubator and accelerator offering, Drugstore, and a soon-to-be launched design and technology business.

Marcel Sydney executive creative director, Scott Huebscher, was instrumental in Leo Burnett’s rise to the #1 creative ranking in Australia and #1 creative network in Australia and Asia Pacific in 2014, with award wins for the Men Like Us Like Rum campaign for Bundaberg Rum and the Shine campaign for Canon. During his time at Leo Burnett, the agency was named AdNews Agency of the Year, B&T Agency of the Year and Spikes Network of the Year. He has also been creative director at DDB Sydney, Saatchi and Saatchi New Zealand and Saatchi and Saatchi in the US.
