Your ears always prick up when you hear that current affairs presenter tone of voice. It’s something about the implied urgency and magnitude of a “crisis” that’s often rather everyday. M&C Saatchi has turned that into a device for BWS, to launch the brand’s nation-wide express alcohol delivery service, BWS on Demand. The same voice, the same hyperbole, the same pedestrian victim’s quotes – the same grasp of your attention. The same sense of urgency – delivered with entertaining humour.
The tongue-in-cheek campaign highlights the fact that BWS is the rescue service for people “in crisis” – when you’ve forgotten to stock the fridge, when unexpected visitors pop in or you’ve overlooked a special occasion.
Cam Blackley, chief creative officer at M&C Saatchi, commented, “Most of us can relate to a time when the drinks situation has become an emergency. And while it’s trendy for brands to talk about helping their customers, we’re proud to work with one that delivers it – in about an hour.”
The full campaign – out-of-home, street furniture, radio, digital and social – launched on August 22.
