The 2017 AME Awards for the World’s Best Advertising and Marketing Effectiveness are open for entries.
And there’s a new category, in which Olympic-themed advertising and marketing for the 2016 Rio Olympics gets to prove its worth.
The AME Awards have been international since 1994, so the 2017 awards will be the 23rd year of “showcasing brilliant creative delivering measurable results,” noted Deb Ryan, newly appointed executive director of the AME Awards.
The new Olympics category has been added to the Products and Services group, which now contains 27 categories. Last year Technology was added, and earlier, Augmented Reality and Social TV were added to the group, Use of Discipline. The other two groups are Social Benefit and Use of Medium.
AME’s global Grand Jury is made up of five regional juries, so cultural and economic relevance can be taken in consideration by judges who have the most up to date knowledge of that particular market.
The Grand Jury is responsible for awarding Gold, Silver, and Bronze to the highest scoring entries through two rounds of regional judging. This round also selects the AME Green Award winner—the highest scoring, Gold-winning entry for a company whose emphasis is on resource conservation and negative environmental impact.
Gold-winning work from all regions is then judged by the full international Grand Jury to determine a Platinum Award for each of the five regions (North America, Latin America, Europe, Middle East & Africa and Asia Pacific) and the International Grand AME Award. Work is judged according to four criteria – challenge/strategy/objectives – 20%; creativity – 25%; execution – 25%; and results/effectiveness – 30%.
