Qualifications count. And when it comes to hot contested jobs like those in social media, they count even more.
Miami Ad School’s Social Media Boot Camp is due to run from October 2 to December 8. It’s an intensive boot camp in which students work on live briefs to create fully executed social media campaigns, and it’s backed by the cred of the top tier advertising school for creative careers in social media, graphic design and strategy.
This year’s Social Media Boot Camp also has the weight of camp leaders, Alex Watts, head of social and Jennifer Ngai, lead social strategist, from Ogilvy behind it.
“We’re really excited to be running this social media boot camp,” Watts commented. “We’ll be focusing on developing a broad set of social skills, preparing students for a role in the real world of agencies and beyond.”
“Social is critical to any successful marketing mix today, because it can deliver to a whole host of business objectives,” added Ngai. “We’re looking forward to showing the newest advertising recruits how to really take advantage of what the space has to offer.”
The Boot Camp’s five weekly classes are taught after hours, from 6.00pm to 9.00 pm Mondays to Fridays. One-on-one expert feedback allows each student to build a professional portfolio and it’s suitable for planners, creatives, account managers and brand managers.
Watts and Ngai will be joined by social media experts from different agencies who will coach students in all aspects of social media from integrating social strategies, paid media and texting campaigns to understanding data and analytics. In addition, students will learn how to create impactful and engaging content for social media. Sunny Hwang, designer at Maud will teach Introduction to Art Direction and Damian Martinez, senior writer at DDB will teach Brand Story Writing.
The Social Media boot camp has still some places available. The cost is $5,500.
