The pandemic caused an explosion in pet ownership. Pet brands responded with gusto. But MINI and Apple are demonstrating that you don’t have to be pet brand to make the most of the current attention-grabbing appeal of pets
MINI is pitching its new range to dog owners in a three-minute spot featuring comedian, Alan Carr, and his doggy namesake.
The work, created by Media.Monks and written by Carr’s collaborator, Giles Bowen, promotes the car’s attributes for dog owners.
The film also follows rigorous, behind-the-scenes collaboration between MINI and the UK’s largest dog welfare charity, Dogs Trust. MINI trained 130 retailers across the nation to become the first Dogs Trust-supported, dog-friendly car brand.
In fact, the brand claims that “9/10 drivers reported their dogs travel happy in their MINI”.
Meanwhile Apple has produced a doggy Shot on iPhone that tugs on heartstrings and Apple hopes, endears the brand to audiences through its efforts to support dogs in need. Apple has helped to develop a dog prosthesis using the LiDAR Scanner and TrueDepth camera on the iPhone 14 Pro.

The star of its new commercial by TBWA\Media|Arts Lab’s is Trip, the tripod dog. In the film called, The Invincibles, Trip receives a prosthetic leg created by 3DPets, a company that creates custom pet prosthetics. The scans generated on the iPhone were true to the dog’s body shape and gait, which enabled the team to 3D-print a custom prosthetic leg that fit him perfectly, enabling Trip to walk as well as any other dog.
