Mother’s Day wishes tend to be for superhuman mums – “To the most perfect mum.” “To mum, you were right about everything.” They can leave a mum wondering why she is only human.
Mother’s Day has come around again in some parts of the world. It’s March 21 in some and March 22 in others (but May 10 in Australia). And this year, people are being told to stay away from older mums. These mums will probably get cards and messages sent to superhumans but no real human hugs.
Those are just two of the reasons why NGO, Phone Booths, which is run by Tahaab Rais, president and regional head of Strategy and Truth Central at FP7 McCann MENAT, has created a little video to make all mums feel good about themselves.
“In these trying and anxious times, where we are forced to be isolated and distanced, pressures on families, relationships and mums are unprecedented, including in this region. Moms are stressed and worried about not being perfect enough,” Rais stated.
“The video has been made, with respect, as a tribute to all mums – the imperfectly perfect, amazing people whose protection and comfort we are so lucky to have in our lives, especially in these trying and anxious times. Mums and those who are as good as mums to kids, hope this brings a little smile to you! Dads, do share it with your better halves.”
As he couldn’t shoot given the situation around us, Rais wrote the script and featured video clips from the internet after getting the right permissions. “A way to hack production freezes,” he noted.
