The Monkeys, MercerBell, The Media Store and The Hallway have done it this year. WiTH Collective and R/GA have had plans to do it since June.
Now Nylon has done it.
The music and sound company that is already established in Sydney and New York has opened in Melbourne.
Ceri Davies and Paul Le Couteur will front the expansion. Le Couteur and Davies join Nylon from Flagstaff Studios. Le Couteur has been sound designer there since 1999. Davies has been studio manager and producer for more than twenty years.
Hamish Macdonald, global executive producer, Nylon Studios, commented, “Everyone in the business knows how incredibly talented Paul is as an engineer, and probably even more know how wonderfully skilled, friendly and unflappable Ceri is as an EP. We are thoroughly excited to finally be putting some roots down in Melbourne, and further developing on our desire to produce nothing but great sound and music production.”
Melbourne’s production will be fully integrated with both the Sydney and New York offices, allowing Nylon to continue to expand on its promise to deliver outstanding original composition, music licensing and sound design to the Australian and International market.
Le Couteur commented, “I am incredibly excited and thrilled at the opportunity to work with Hamish, Simon and the whole Nylon team in establishing Nylon’s Melbourne studios. Ceri and I are looking forward to the challenge and are savoring the chance to build something really special in Melbourne.”
Nylon Studios has found a temporary home at 165 Banks St, South Melbourne but expects to move into its permanent studio very early in 2018.
