When it comes to the weekly shop for food, children are its influencers. To develop an effective campaign for Knacki plant-based sausages, Ogilvy Paris knew it had two audiences – parents and children.
Knacki solves a problem for parents. Many kids are not fond of vegetables. According to MPedia, 2021, 77% of kids under 10 struggle to eat varied foods, making it difficult for parents to adopt a greener diet. Knacki’s sausages are plant-based. The trick is to get kids to try them.
So Ogilvy presented the sausages in a way that kids would love in a quirky OOH and social campaign – as a giraffe, dog, octopus and butterfly. The creative solution is a series of fun and kid-appealing balloon animals made of Knacki plant-based hotdogs. At first glance, the visuals appear to show animal-shaped balloons – ultimate kid appeal for kids and ultimate solution appeal for parents.

The balloon animals were brought to life by 3D modelling. Dedicated craft and detail were used to make sure that the visual portrayal of balloons and Knacki hotdogs was perfectly balanced. The shape of the overall balloon to create an animal, as well as respecting the real shape and texture of each sausage, needed to come across as equally appealing and real. Each animal was also given a fun personality in terms of body postures, positions, and character traits to add to the appeal.
