Fred & Farid sends in a bomb-disposal robot to investigate a perhaps hazardous unidentified object. It’s an Audi TT.
“The tension and the energy of the film became the height of emotion that brings this iconic model. This film is only a pretext of the staging for the aim of enhancing the beauty, the power and the design of the new Audi TT,” stated Benjamin Marchal and Olivier Lefebvre, creative directors at Fred & Farid Paris of the new ad they’ve made.
Ok, the translation from French to English doesn’t perfectly represent what the two creatives would have said. But, the question, “Seriously?” applies nonetheless.
This is the ad:
The tagline is strong. You Dare or You Don’t could have been a compelling ending to a great ad.
The film was directed by Fleur & Manu, a duo who until this year were most well known for their music videos.
“Let’s say that we live in a fantasy world that doesn’t really fit with the reality so we always need to escape in our minds in order to create a universe where we would feel free to do or be whatever we want,” they stated in an interview after they won Best Dance Video – International and Best Visual Effects in a Video for Gesaffelstein’s Pursuit, and Best Alternative Video – Budget for Connan Mockasin’s Faking Jazz Together at the UK Music Video Awards at the end of 2013. Now, they’ve won 2 Cannes Lions, several Clio Awards and 2 Yellow Pencils at D&AD Awards.
