Fred & Farid Los Angeles’ first work for luxury French fashion brand, Longchamp, is an eight-minute film about two girls who live in Paris – each very different, both spirited. You can understand the thinking – Paris represents elegance, quality and good taste. It is still the first home of fashion. Longchamp wants to grab and hold those assets for itself.

The film launches a new global platform and tagline for the brand, Très Paris. The film was inspired by a ‘60s French song, Il est cinq heures, Paris s’éveille, originally by Dutronc, Lanzmann & Segalen and re-recorded for the campaign by French music artist, Clara Luciani. It is as inscrutable as fashion films usually are, although the basic storyline can be extracted.
The style of the film was inspired by French cinema from the ‘60s. The narrative and tone of the film was meant to evoke a naive, light and fresh spirit. The clothes and accessories come from Longchamp’s SS21 collection. It was directed by Lope Serrano from directing duo, Canada, and stars British actress and model, Amber Anderson, and up-and-coming French actress, Mathilde Ollivier.
