As agencies reorganise themselves to adapt to a new creative environment, inevitable changes occur on their top tiers.
VMLY&R Sydney executive creative director, Bart Pawlak (pictured above), is the most recent mover. He has left what is now VMLY&R to launch a new independent creative consultancy venture, Bart Pawlak Creative.
Pawlak announced the news on LinkedIn, “Saying goodbye sucks. But, after giving professional monogamy a red-hot crack for more than a decade, I’m unashamed to say that a particularly fervent form of promiscuity beckons.
“So, from today, I am launching as an independent creative consultant, offering creative solutions to business problems, integrated advertising campaigns, creative direction, creative strategy, copywriting, collaboration and infinite curiosity about your company, brand or brief.
“To the many clients and colleagues who contributed to the magnificence of my time at VMLY&R over the years, a sincere thanks. And, to the good friends I leave behind – Paul Nagy, Peter Bosilkovski, Katie Dally, Danny Lattouf, to name several – my very best wishes for the future.”
Derek Green (pictured below) was one of the redundancies caused by Ogilvy Australia’s regroup in July last year. He had been executive creative director of Ogilvy Sydney after joining the agency on 2014 from Cramer Kresselt Chicago, where he was SVP, executive creative director.
At Ogilvy, he led creative across accounts such as Amex, IBM, Lion Breweries, Nestle, Coca-Cola, Kimberly-Clark, Optus and Transport for NSW.
Last week, he became executive creative director of We Are Unlimited in Chicago, reporting directly to chief creative officer, Toygar Bazarkaya.
