Melbourne indie agency, SICKDOGWOLFMAN’s, provocative humour rises again in a campaign for its own Australian SPF 50+ brand, SLATHER. Slather burst into Australia’s sunscreen market at the start of 2025 with an evil sun character who lures people outside to melt their face. Now the evil sun is peeling skin off Aussies’ backs.

The gruesome 2026 campaign film, also an infomercial parody, was directed again by Haven’t You Done Well directors, Will&Sej (Will Suen & Sejon Im), and stars a host of local comedy talent, with Matt Jenner as the sun and peeling skin courtesy of SharpFX.
Jess Wheeler, creative director, SICKDOGWOLFMAN and co-founder, SLATHER SPF, stated, “We launched SLATHER with a more cinematic piece that really established ‘the sun’ character and ‘the sun is not your friend’ positioning. This time around, we wanted to shift more attention on the product itself (look at us being clients) and given this is a brand that does nothing by half measures, we thought we’d make a good old Aussie infomercial. Just with the sun BBQing a man on a spit. As you do.”
