Alien invasions, dancing dinosaurs and an international car model named Renaldo. The new ASUS campaign by Superheroes Amsterdam to launch the ZenFone 3 has everything weird and wonderful going for it.
Including creators plucked from the streets of New York.
The campaign message is that the ZenFone 3 lets people become anything they want. So Superheroes set out to prove that everyday people could make a launch film.
The film, The Alien & The Dinosaur is fronted by Matt Rubano and Betsy Kenney, two rising stars from New York’s Upright Citizens Brigade. Hundreds of commercial ideas were collected from New Yorkers on the streets. They were distilled into one great ad for the ZenFone 3.
The final film, directed by HALAL’s Nils Gerbens, combines the best commercial ideas into one amazing story – with a pretty wild ending.
The key plot points were acted out and lip-synched by the comedic duo and the end result is a pretty wild and very honest example of crowdsourced content.
The online film will be followed up with additional films and user generated content, all with the starting point of giving fans a stage to show off their potential. SuperHeroes has also developed a global manifesto TVC and out of home campaign.
