Apple has seized a historic moment in culture. The 2025 Academy Awards coincide with Brazil’s most significant holiday, Carnival, and the Brazilian political biographical drama, Ainda Estou Aqui (I’m Still Here), is competing in three major Oscar categories: Best Picture, Best Actress, and Best International Feature Film.
Its newest Shot on iPhone film, Brasil em Cena (Brazil on Screen), shot entirely on iPhone Pro Max, celebrates the rise of Brazilian cinema as well as Carnival. The film, set in a transformed warehouse, features an original samba song composed by Jair Oliveira, a composer, producer, and musician who has shaped Brazilian music through his authentic blend of samba and soul. As the son of legendary Jair Rodrigues, Oliveira carries forward a rich musical legacy while innovating the genre through his prolific songwriting and collaborations with Brazil’s greatest sambistas.
Performing the song is Nilze Carvalho, a powerhouse in Brazilian music deeply rooted in the traditions of samba.
The campaign will air during the 97th Academy Awards broadcast on Rede Globo, during Carnival, creating a cultural bridge between these two grand celebrations. The song will be available on Apple Music and the film can be viewed through exclusive content on Apple’s Instagram profile.
