If you don’t think excellence in digital is top of the pops right now, you’re just not paying attention. The AIMIA awards have been applauding top digital work since 1992, making them the longest running digital awards in Australia. The 21st Annual AIMIA Awards will be assessed by 140 Australian and overseas judges, on creativity, innovation, user experience, design, technical implementation, content and overall effectiveness.
Sunny Queen Chook Tracker by BCM, won Most Effective Digital Product or Service last year.
The awards are open for entries now until Friday, October 17.
The 30 categories include:
- Best of Websites and Online Services
- Best Smartphone or Tablet Application
- Best Digital Advertising or Communication
- Best Student Entry
- Most Innovative Digital Product or Service
Within these categories, a range of industries is covered – tourism and travel, automotive, learning and education, retail, financial services and healthcare.
Missing Person Pre-Roll by VML Australia won Best of Digital Advertising or Communication – Government & Non-Profit, last year.
“The standard of work coming out of the Australian digital industry continues to grow from strength to strength, and projects now come from a more diverse range of players,” said Tim O’Neill, joint managing director of Reactive and AIMIA National President.
“This year we anticipate more entries in new areas such as wearables, data and digital installations. I’m excited to have AIMIA once again celebrate the best of best from the past year.”

Entries will be judged in two parts.
- Entrants will be shortlisted by an online industry judging panel and will then be required to provide further information.
- Finalists will then be judged in house to determine the winners.
The winners will be announced at the 21st Annual AIMIA Awards Ceremony that will be held in Sydney in March 2015. Entries must be submitted via the AIMIA Awards website.
