Oscar-winning filmmaker, Armando Bo, and Joaquín Cubría, vice president & executive creative director of David Buenos Aires have been added to the 2017 D&AD Festival headline speaker line-up.
Armando Bo is director & co-founder of commercial production company, Rebolucion. He also won the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay for the 2014 film, Birdman, at the 87th Academy Awards in 2015, with his co-writers and a Golden Globe for Best Original Script.
Bo is also a prolific advertising director, who has shot awarded films for brands such as Axe, VW, and Got Milk.
Buenos Aires agency, David, does exceptional work, and since 2012 that has been the responsibility of its vice president & executive creative director, Joaquin Cubria. Cubria has been delivering world-class creative for more than 20 years. It has been awarded at all major international festivals and includes the very first D&AD Impact White Pencil for Latin America.
The Festival’s speaker line-up also includes Erik Kessels (creative director of KesselsKramer), Stefan Sagmeister (co-founder of Sagmeister & Walsh), Colleen DeCourcy (chief creative officer of Wieden + Kennedy), Damon Stapleton (chief creative officer of DDB New Zealand) and Yancey Strickler, co-founder and chief executive officer of Kickstarter, among others.
Also announced are the panels for D&AD Festival Insight Sessions made up of jury presidents and judges, that will give visitors the chance to look into the judging process behind the Professional Awards. Panelists this year include:

This year, the D&AD Festival has been organised into three distinct days, each with its own agenda:
Tuesday, 25 April – The Earth Will Shake: This is a day of responding to the big issues our world faces. D&AD want to inspire you to build a better, fairer and more sustainable future.
Wednesday, 26 April – Staring at The Sun: Shifts in technology, trends and work-styles are upending the creative industries. This is a day of leading innovators thinking, predicting and demonstrating how they are adapting to a transforming sector.
Thursday, 27 April – Outrageous Magic: This is a day of our industry’s leading designers and creators talking about what they do when crafting the big ideas.
An exhibition of more than 26,000 pieces of creative work entered into the Awards will be displayed throughout the venue and there will also be New Blood and Next Awards installations, including an exclusive showcase of emerging directors and exhibition of emerging photographers in partnership with Getty Images.
