The PrePros, an in-person series created to help the next generation of creatives learn the production process directly from the people who do it, is hosting its third event on September 17 with SMUGGLER and Flower Shop.
Titled Inside the Mind of a Director, the evening will bring together SMUGGLER director, Adam Berg, Flower Shop founder & CCO, Alastair Merry, and SMUGGLER executive producer, Carlin Wilson-Webb for a behind-the-scenes look at how great work gets made–from treatment to final film, and the relationships between agencies and directors that make it possible. The conversation will be moderated by Brandon “Jinx” Jenkins.
The evening will explore The Mind of a Director: What kind of projects does Adam look for and how does he make them his own?; From Treatment to Film: Looking at a successful director-producer partnership, and how that brings an idea to life; and The Creative Relationship: How directors, producers and creatives build trust.
The event is free and open to the industry, with doors at 6PM and the talk beginning at 7PM. Since PrePros is designed to support the next generation of creative production talent. Junior to senior producers and junior to ACD-level creatives will be given priority for ticket approvals.

The PrePros was born from the observation that as budgets shift and ways of working evolve, up-and-coming creatives are losing access to the mentorship and hands-on training that once shaped the industry’s best. That gap doesn’t just hold back individual talent, it affects the whole creative community, along with the craft and quality of the work itself. By bringing together top production partners, producers, and advertising creatives, The PrePros gives the next generation a place to learn directly from the people doing the work, so they can experience the process firsthand and build the skills to do their best work.
