The Sweet Shop’s Steve Ayson has picked up the 2014 AICP awards for Direction and Humour for Old Spice Momsong.
Three Australian & New Zealand creatives nailed the Direction and Humour categories at the Association of Independent Commercial Producers’ AICP Awards 2014. Steve Ayson,Justine Armour and Ruth Bellotti (the pair now at Wieden + Kennedy Portland) won their awards for Old Spice’s Momsong, the spot that has also already picked up two gold pencils at the One Show Awards in New York last month.
Old Spice did particularly well at the awards. The three Old Spice spots – Constant Shower, Watermelon and Architect – won Best in Show for Excellence in Advertising/Campaign. They were also created by W+K Portland, and were directed by Steve Rogers through Biscuit Filmworks.
Forsman & Bodenfors, The Epic Split, directed by Andreas Nilsson through Folke Film, won Best in Show for Excellence in Advertising/Single Commercial.
The Curator’s Recognition award was given to Intel’s Look Inside: Mick Ebeling work by Venables Bell & Partners, directed by Mick Ebeling and Lucy Walker of The Ebeling Group.
The Most Next Best in Show from the Next Awards earlier in the week went to IBM’s A Boy and His Atom by Ogilvy. The winner of that award earns a $5,000 grant that can be given to an education institution that they choose. The grant went to the P-Tech High School in Brooklyn.
Most awarded production company was MJZ with 9 awards. Folke Films won 6. Biscuit, Furlined and Park Pictures each won 4 awards. Epoch Films and Smuggler, 3 each and The Sweet Shop won 2.
Most awarded director was Andreas Nilsson of Folke Films with 6 awards. Ted Pauly of Furlined won 4. Nicolai Fuglsig of MJZ and Martin De Thurah of Epoch Films each won 3.
Most awarded agency: Wieden & Kennedy won 14 awards. BBDO New York won 8, Forsman 6 and Droga5 won 5. Barton F. Graf 9000 with four.
