VCCP has won the creative account for IKEA in the UK & Ireland. The pitch process began in November last year, when Mother declined to participate in a creative review. Mother had held the creative account for 16 years.
McCann, VML, adam&eve\TBWA, VCCP and AMV BBDO were involved in the pitch until late-December, when McCann and BBDO were removed.
In the US, IKEA began a creative agency review in January last year and in May added DAVID New York a primary US creative agency and alma as multicultural agency of record to its roster.
McCann was appointed in 2023 as IKEA’s global creative partner, providing overarching strategic and creative direction across international markets.
