Hermes is 177 years old and even it understands how to use a mobile phone. The ultra-chic French brand has launched an app.
It also knows that there’s iOS and Android. There’s a version for each, in English and its native language, French.
And it’s anything but posh. It’s “the handy app to help you take a break from the harsh realities of office, airport or public transport…or even a dull date. And the invitation to use it says, “Pull the tie and let the games begin!”
No, I didn’t think that Hermes wearers used public transport either. And I was rather inclined to think they were the dull date.
But let’s continue.
Tie Break: A Random Dose of Hermes contains a wild mix of arcade gams, cartoons, videos, and fun gifs – all accessed by digitally tugging on the on-screen ties.
There are also practical features. You can learn how to tie different knots. And you can virtually try on different tie patterns against your own shirt.
Of course, there have to be modules that show and allow you to purchase the latest styles. One of these is a tie adorned with a QR code that, when scanned on a smartphone, takes you straight to the app.
What about girls? Yes, there’s an app for that too. The app all about women’s scarves is called Silk Knots and it came out earlier, to coincide with the current Spring/Summer collection.
Music for Tie Breaks’ app and teaser video was composed by Cedric Marszewski (aka Pilooski), a regular Hermes collaborator.
