300 rare and vintage Nike pieces are on exhibition (and for sale) in Tokyo this weekend, October 23-24. Wieden+Kennedy’s 1st anniversary edition of its cultural platform, The WEEKEND, features its founding client, exploring Nike’s rich design legacy, bringing together collectors, artists, and vintage specialists to examine the brand’s influence beyond sport and its lasting impact, influencing fashion, art, and culture.
The WEEKEND supports the Wieden+Kennedy belief that time spent away from everyday routines is essential for creativity, curiosity, and human connection. It celebrates the spirit of the weekend through fashion, art, music, and shared experiences, not simply as two days off, but as a mindset that makes room for discovery, inspiration, and new connections.
Founded in 1982, Wieden+Kennedy has played a defining role in Nike’s creative history for more than four decades, including the creation of the very famous, Just Do It tagline. With this creative heritage as its backdrop, The WEEKEND has explored different aspects of culture through each edition, from vintage Nike watches and running culture to rare music-related collectibles and VHS archives.
The exhibition, NIKE SUPER ARCHIVES, brings together approximately 300 rare Nike pieces, primarily from the 1990s and 2000s, presented by four collaborators working across vintage collecting, art, and sneaker restoration – from technical outerwear and experimental watch designs to restored sneakers and hand-illustrated apparel.

Those collaborators are:
Down the road, specialising in collecting and selling Nike ACG archives, will present approximately 80 rare pieces, including the ACG Kimono Sayagata Jacket, featuring a traditional Japanese geometric pattern, and the deadstock Nike ACG 3D Multi Pocket Jacket. The collection highlights the experimental spirit of Nike’s outdoor designs, where technical functionality meets unconventional aesthetics.

GOOD ARCHIVE will show approximately 100 vintage Nike watches, including pieces from the distinctive Triax series. With their unconventional shapes and futuristic designs, these timepieces reflect Nike’s experimental approach to product design during the 1990s and 2000s.

The Prompt And Answer will present approximately 40 unique works, transforming Nike T-shirts and jackets through hand-drawn illustrations and lettering. Each piece is individually created, turning familiar sportswear into a one-of-a-kind expression of contemporary art and personal identity.

Sneaker restoration specialist, HOOK UP LAB, will bring approximately 100 rare pairs from the 1990s and early 2000s. Through meticulous restoration, including the repair of deteriorated soles, the studio brings collectible sneakers back to wearable condition , preserving their design heritage while giving them a new life.

Visitors will also receive a complimentary copy of The WEEKEND PAPER VOL.5, an original newspaper produced exclusively for the event. This edition features a special interview with HATSUKI, founder of vintage shop blue room and a Tokyo participant in Nike’s global Air Works design program, alongside SHUN, who runs Summer of Love in Shibuya. Their conversation explores how they first met, their perspectives on fashion, life in Tokyo, their relationships with Nike, and what The WEEKEND means to each of them. Previous editions of The WEEKEND PAPER have featured Olympic skateboarding champion, Yuto Horigome; artist and musician, VERBAL; and artist LUGOSIS. Through these conversations, the publication explores the perspectives, lifestyles, and creative communities shaping contemporary culture.
