Simon Templar was the suave Robin Hood-like character in a series called The Saint, that ran for six seasons and 118 episodes, from 1962 to 1968. It made Roger Moore an international star and was the preface to Moore’s becoming James Bond, from Live and Let Die (1973) to A View to a Kill (1985) inclusive.
Sir Roger Moore has had another role since 1991. He has been goodwill ambassador to UNICEF since Audrey Hepburn, impressed him with her humanitarian work.
This year, Moore, will be on the jury of the Young Lions Health Award, assessing the work of young creatives and marketers that aims to improve challenges facing health systems in low-income countries.
UNICEF is one of the three organisations behind the Young Lions Health Award major sponsors. The other is Unilever.
Moore commented, “I am thrilled to join the jury for the Young Lions Health competition which is a unique opportunity to help change the lives of the most vulnerable children.”
The deadline for entry submission has been extended until April 2, to enable more creative young talent to apply.
Winners will be announced at Lions Health, June 19-20. Lions Health is a festival and awards ceremony for creative excellence in the global healthcare industry. The winners of the award will be presented before the world’s top players in health advertising at the Lions Health Awards ceremony.
