This is Iain Mackenzie:
“…Mackenzie creates visually stunning work for which he has taken home countless awards.”
“Iain is one of the giants of the industry. His aestethic, his manner and his collaborative spirit are very well known amongst Creatives and I am really looking forward to working with him.” [Wilf Sweetland, managing director of The Sweet Shop Australia]
Mackenzie has just joined The Sweet Shop for global representation. This is what we said when asked why: “The people. We took the time to get to know each other. Paul put me in touch with the management team and I could see how well they worked together across the world.”
Maybe it’s because he is also a DOP. Mackenzie’s nuanced, carefully observed spots, have put his name on wish lists worldwide. He has created work for Lexus, Mercedes, Sears, Campbell’s, Visa, DOW, Qantas, Chrysler and the Citigroup. He has worked with Paul McCartney, Dennis Hopper, Jude Law, Naomi Watts, Chrissie Hynde, Kylie Minogue and Hugh Laurie.
He has been applauded as a “brilliant visualist” by Australian Cinematographer Quarterly and named one of the “Top 20 Directors of All Time” by Campaign Brief.
His work is hauntingly beautiful. His “less is more” aesthetic captivates an audience and he tirelessly seeks out the perfect, emotionally charged image. He has been awarded at Cannes, Adfest, the London International Advertising Awards, and MADC.
Paul Prince, The Sweet Shop’s chief executive officer & founding partner observed, “Iain is a legend. The quality of his work is so much bigger than what you can see on the screen. It’s in the DNA of everything he does; his tireless focus, his attention to detail, his warm interpersonal style. In short, he is a representative of everything we are and everything we strive to be at The Sweet Shop. We are proud he has chosen to become part of our team.”
