The Effies have announced the APAC winners at a gala event in Singapore. 71 Effie winners were awarded – 1 Grand Effie, 18 Gold, 28 Silver and 24 Bronze. Australia led the Country tally with 16 Effies, followed by New Zealand with 15 Effies and India with 8 Effies.
Ogilvy was crowned Agency Network of the Year for the fifth year running, winning 4 Golds, 13 Silvers and 7 Bronzes. Leo Burnett Worldwide came second. DDB Worldwide came third.
CHEP Melbourne won the Grand Effie for its work with the Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation, with its Curing Homesickness campaigns in answer to the Hospital’s need to access new sources of revenue. Despite no additional investment, the campaign is still generating revenue, four years since its launch, to help children’s hospital charities around Australia get kids back home.
Special New Zealand won both Agency of the Year and Independent Agency of the Year, the second time it has achieved the double win. Gigil came second in Independent Agency of the Year, with Special Australia third. Leo Burnett Mumbai came second in Agency of the Year, with Ogilvy Sydney third.
Mondelēz International is Marketer of the Year again, with Cadbury and Oreo contributing to the win. Procter & Gamble came second; Samsung is third
Whisper won Brand of the Year with 3 Gold Effies for Changing Education to Keep Girls in School. Oreo came second; Dutchie and Partners Life tied for third
