BBDO New York’s Rare for a reason campaign for the ADC 95th Annual Awards began in November in print, with a collection of freaky facts about what’s more likely to happen than your winning an ADC cube.
The campaign used images by some of the industry’s top illustrators, type designers and visual artists, including ADC Young Guns winners and photographer, Billy Siegrist.
As the entry deadlines are now close enough to make adpeople take notice (digital and student, January 29; advertising and innovation, February 8), the campaign has moved into video.
As with the print ads, “The videos juxtapose weird, macabre and surprising facts with the even less likely chances of winning an ADC Cube,” Marcel Yunes, creative director, BBDO New York, explained.
“They’re meant to show just how difficult and prestigious it is to be honoured at the ADC Annual Awards.”
ADC has confirmed that for the third consecutive year, all ADC Annual Awards juries have equal gender representation in accordance with the organisation’s Let’s Make the Industry 50/50 Initiative.
