Post-Covid wanderlust has us searching for 3, 4 or 5 star hotels. But what if you could choose an option with 5 billion of them? Cerveza Patagonia and Beta Collective are offering travellers a 5 billion star hotel. With their hotel you get benefits such as sleeping under a starry sky, high up in the mountains and having more animals than humans as neighbours (there are only 5 tents with room for 2 people in each). The hotel staff points out that “all the units have a view of the mountains, at the end of the day the view is to the sunset and at night to the billions of stars.”
The brand experience was born from research between Cerveza Patagonia and Pinterest that showed an increase in searches for images of nature, sunsets, an 81% increase in searches for cabins and 7 times more searches for ground fire barbecue.

“A hotel needs to meet many requirements to have 5 stars. We seek to include all of them in our version of a hotel, but in a very Patagonia way and we also add other experiences such as watching the sky in the company of a specialist, preparing your own bread and enjoying a dinner made outdoors with a ground fire parrilla,” stated Eduardo Fernandes, marketing strategist at Cerveza Patagonia.
“We are inviting people to get out of the routine and, in a way, making a provocation to leave aside the ‘luxuries’ of a traditional hotel to connect with what really matters. Because the 5 Billion Stars Hotel is an invitation to discover new moments. We discovered, in research done in partnership with Pinterest, that the search for natural landscapes and outdoor experiences grew a lot in 2022, and we brought this to our hotel,” explained Thiago Leitão, head of marketing for Cerveza Patagonia in Brazil.

The activation is Beta Collective’s 3rd major work for Cerveza Patagonia.
Bernardo Tavares, Beta founder and creative director, explained, “We started just under a year ago with the Mountain Intervention, a social experiment, then we took highline athletes across the WTC in São Paulo where they places a special billboard – the Mountain Intervention – that got the brand recognized in important festivals like Clio, One Show and Ny Festivals. Now Patagonia returns to the place it deserves: the mountaintop and the headlines of press outlets.”

The space for the hotel was selected for its geographical characteristics, which among other factors, manages to be far enough away from pollution and lights to be a true planetarium. The search for the ideal mountain included more than 30 locations in 4 different states. The hotel took about 5 months to produce. The experiences were also created from the data provided by research in partnership with Pinterest, which revealed several trends after two years at home, the thirst for new experiences away from cities and routines being a highlight.

In addition to brand partners and influencers, the public will also be able to experience this unique hotel through a promotion carried out on Cerveza Patagonia’s social networks – Twitter @cvzpatagonia.br or Instagram @cervezapatagonia.br.
