Bingle car insurance is so simple a chimpanzee can do it skydiving, a magician’s assistant can do it while being sawn in two, and a jazz flautist can make his crab dance to get a quote.
What on earth could The Monkeys do next?
Well, they seem to have saved the best for fourth. In the ad just launched, Eric gets a quote from Bingle on his smartphone while singing Daryl Braithwaite’s 1990 love ballad, The Horses (its video also set on a beach), and Roman-riding two horses.
Oh, and…the horses are singing along too. It’s a sexy execution for the Bingle campaign promise. The message, “With quotes in under two minutes, get your insurance and go,” could not be underlined more boldly. And it is likely to make the wish of The Monkeys, co-founder and creative director, Justin Drape, come true, “We’re hoping it extends Bingle’s appeal to a broader audience and people enjoy, what is in essence, a demonstration ad.”
Bingle marketing manager, Jasmine Hildebrand, noted, “People are responding to the message that Bingle makes it simple to get your car insurance and get on with your life, with sales increasing dramatically year on year. We fully expect this spot to help us build on that success.”
This spot was directed by Rabbit Content’s Jeff Low who has just won Director of the Year at the Shots Awards, “Despite how it looks, it really isn’t ‘as simple as it sounds’ to get a guy to straddle two horses and sing. It’s actually really hard. But what interested me was that challenge. It’s something you don’t see very often on TV, that’s for sure.”
The new Bingle campaign includes activations, press, digital and out-of-home. There are more OTT executions scheduled for later in the year.
