He made adland notice with his Lexus Short Film 2013 win with then partner, Joel Kefali. Now Campbell Hooper is The [new] Sweet Shop director.

Special Problems was a design studio founded in 2007 by two young directors, Campbell Hooper and Joel Kefali. The two worked together creating music videos, fashion films, commercials, short films, branded content and album covers.
Their short film, Echoes, put them under the global spotlight. It was a Lexus Short Film winner, which The Weinstein Company then produced.
Shortly after this, Hooper’s desire to focus purely on film making ignited.
He then created the short film, 43,000 Feet, which playing at festivals around the world and featured on websites, including Short of the Week and as Staff Pick on Vimeo.
Music videos for The Naked and the Famous and Little Daylight, and commercials work for Ubiquiti, Ford and Leggo’s followed.
Special Problems’ successes – winning NZ Music Video of the Year three times, two awards at the NZ Film Awards in 2013 and Gold Lion at Cannes in 2011, also gave Hooper the confidencec and cred to go out on his own. As the studio became a hot shop, Hooper and Kefali increasingly had to split their efforts between projects, leaving each more independent in his approach than before.
