DDB wants Australian business owners and budding entrepreneurs to know that Westpac encourages Australians to turn their great ideas into great businesses. But that’s an offer that’s already out there.
The Land of Forgotten Dreams is a new story. It triggers a strong emotion.
DDB Melbourne chief creative officer, Darren Spiller, explained, “This campaign is an open invitation to entrepreneurs and businesses to set their thinking free…”
…which makes Westpac the antidote to that emotion.
“It seems everyone you bump into has an idea they’d like to bring to life. It could be an online start up or a new product; it could be expanding an existing business or buying into a franchise. These ideas have the potential to be life changing, but so many of them remain just that – ideas. We want to change that,” Spiller stated.
Westpac’s head of marketing and brand, Elaine Herlihy noted that the campaign reflects Westpac’s long-standing support for business, going back nearly 200 years. “If business prospers then we all prosper,” she added.
DDB Australia chief executive offcier, Andrew Little commented, “Australians are ‘ideas people’ and always have been. Often they just need backing to turn their ideas into reality so who better than Australia’s first company, Westpac, to support the nation’s small businesses”.
The campaign’s TVC launched on Sunday night, February 1. Supporting media features the characters from the campaign trapped inside digital OOH and digital displays.
