Sony Pictures’ investment in partnerships for Spider-Man: Brand New Day is remarkable, even in tis new era of movie-brand collabs. BMW’s partnership campaign has just been released. And in Brazil, Sony Pictures has also made use of the hero status of Cape Verdean goalkeeper, Vozinha, after his outstanding performance in the World Cup.
The commercial is not a subtle plug for Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Vozinha challenges the common misconception of what it means to be a hero before he reveals the special jersey he is wearing, featuring the Spider-Man symbol and theme. He notes that while the tournament he competed in has come to an end – and although he will forever carry the love and support he received – he is now there to introduce someone else: someone who, just like him, believes that anyone can be a hero.
“Go watch Spider-Man: Brand New Day. I can save shots, but I can’t save you from spoilers,” he states.
The commercial was created by agency, Dojo, with support from Moshi, its creator economy division, and produced by local production company, KS Cinema, which has followed Vozinha throughout much of his career.
