e.l.f. has suffered the ignominy of social media backlash.
It all started with a seemingly innocent ad campaign, highlighting how e.l.f. Cosmetics’ Halo Glow isn’t a one-trick pony.
But it drew criticism from a pony, who argued the correct language is actually “multi-talented small-boned horse.” (The pony is voiced by Rebecca Black, who herself has suffered the insult of being called a one-trick pony for her viral hit “Friday.”)
Then e.l.f. made matters ten times worse when it posted to social saying Halo Glow cannot be “pigeon-holed.” It caused major backlash from the pigeon community.
A small revolt, led by Pam the Pigeon, included the launch of boycott website, pigeonsagainstelf.com, and pavement-pounding with bird-sized billboards.

Finally, after days of protest began to boil over, e.l.f. responded.
Yes, it was a very wild ride. The cat really had e.l.f. by the tongue there for a moment.
Of course, the hands (and creative minds) of Mischief @ No Fixed Address were guiding the fun.
