“With effect from January 1, 2014, Aegis Media and Dentsu Network have combined to form the Dentsu Aegis Network. Together, they form the first truly global communications network for the digital age in 110 countries worldwide with over 22,000 dedicated specialists.” This has been a big year for Dentsu.
A few hours ago, the new Dentsu Aegis Network acquired search and performance-marketing agency, Covario, one of the top 20 search shops in the US. The San Diego company’s revenue grew 21% last year to US$37 million.
Denstu’s involvement in Spikes Asia 2014 is designed to show off its new muscle. It has main stage speaker sessions, it is sponsoring the Young Markets Academy and it is hosting a party called Kosumosu (Cosmos) on Thursday 25.
The big new network is out to upstage the established party awards, Cannes. 500 people will celebrate the converged Dentsu Aegis Network at a former convent in Singapore. The historical domed roof will be transformed into a new age galaxy and each attendee will become a part of the event’s solar system. Galactic converged cocktails created by mixologist, Ethan Leong, will flow all night.
The Kosumoso event is co-produced by MassiveMusic, (yes, Cannes annual party’s Massive Music), with headline act, 2manydjs – brothers, David and Stephen Dewaele, who are known worldwide as both Soulwax and 2manydjs.
If you want to be there, you need to like Dentsu Aegis Network APAC’s Facebook page and watch this space.
Nick Waters, chief executive officer, Dentsu Aegis Network Asia Pacific stated, “Spikes is a major industry event in our region, and we wanted to contribute by lightening the mood and bringing something different that will be a lot of fun. We are in our first year as Dentsu Aegis Network and this seemed like a good time and place to celebrate.”
Dick van Motman, chief executive officer, Dentsu Aegis Network Southeast Asia added, “This party will be a celebration of convergence and talent. Our efforts around Spikes are all centered about bringing people together: high potentials, talent, movers and shakers. In this industry in general, and at Dentsu Aegis Network in particular, we understand that talent thrives when it collides with other talent. This philosophy culminates in Kosumoso.”
