Saatchi & Saatchi NY makes a very difficult subject very easy to digest.
The New York Police Department has a “Stop & Frisk” policy. Anyone can imagine how many ways that could go wrong in any multicultural city in the world.
Brotherhood SisterSol is an organisation that provides long-term support services for young people ages eight to twenty-one. Stop & Frisk is something it is trying to have reformed. Saatchi & Saatchi New York demonstrates why:
The PSA is part of S&S NY’s Talk About The Talk campaign.
The spot intends to draw attention to the dichotomy between how different communities experience interaction with law enforcement in the US. Its tagline asks firmly, “Do we want one America, or two?” It exists to provoke conversations that need to be had by everyday people so that change can happen within policies.
It is hoping to get America talking in a positive way about race and equal treatment under the law, about respect and fairness using the hashtag #TalkAboutTheTalk. The PSA is the trigger. Social media is the arsenal. Change, S&S and Brotherhood SisterSol hope, is the result.
