Most Aussie mums and dads get to know about head lice the hard way – when their kids bring them home. And many Aussie mums and dads find out what to do about them from other mums and dads in the school or pre-school car line.
Believe Advertising is helping Australian head lice treatment company, NitWits, to spread more reliable info through the parent network.
It has launched a new national awareness month, No Nits November, and a campaign that is built around the fact that parents rather like posting cute pics of their kids on Facebook.
The campaign encourages parents to upload their kid’s wackiest hairstyle while tagging @NitWitsKid Facebook page and #nonitsnovember to be in the running to win the $1000 donation for their school library. Families that register their involvement on the No Nits November website receive a head lice information guide, a colouring + puzzle book and a Certificate of Participation for their child.
“I wanted to create a campaign for NitWits that would get Australian families talking about head lice awareness along with also having an innovative social media element. The $1000 donation to a school’s library gives the campaign a local focus that gets kids and families involved from a grass roots level,” Believe Advertising director, Adrian Falk, commented.
The social media campaign is being supported in print and digital, to achieve mass coverage for NitWits.
