How much do you know about beacon technology? If you just said, “About what?” book in for the next Miami Ad School talk.
Ed Welsh from Inlight Media is next up in the Industry Heroes series of round table talks. His topic is beacon technology – the very new way to connect mobile phones with local businesses and services.
Welsh is already working with some of Australia’s biggest brands on beacon solutions. He will show adland’s next gen creatives and strategists how the technology is changing the face of proximity based marketing and experiences through real world applications.
In essence, a beacon is a low-cost, small-size piece of hardware that uses battery-friendly, low-energy Bluetooth connections to transmit messages or prompts directly to a smartphone or tablet.
So the new technology offers a significant opportunity for brands and marketers to grab the attention of nearby customers and drive return on investment.
Welsh’s presentation is about sharing everything that young creatives and strategists need to know to incorporate the technology into creative solutions for clients and brands.
The talk will be held on Monday 17 November from 5 pm to 6 pm at Miami Ad School, level 5, 2-12 Foveaux Street, Surry Hills.
The talks are fee but places are limited. To book, email Helga Diamond by 12 pm, Friday 14 November.
