Saatchi & Saatchi London and BT Sport bring WWE fans a real treat and everyone else a bundle of hugely entertaining fun that just might change their minds about watching the upcoming WWE Clash at the Castle, its first major event in the UK for thirty years.
The humorous campaign called The Homecoming takes WWE star, Damien Priest, to his billet in Wales, a farm where he learns how to herd sheep and make Welsh cakes and works in the local Mad Dog brewery – all without much knowledge but a lot of strength. The episodes juxtapose all the melodrama of WWE with a decidedly Welsh sense of humour.
The campaign promotes the return of the sport to BT Sport, the home of WWE in the UK and WWE’s Clash at the Castle event at The Principality Stadium in Cardiff on September 3. The campaign is running August 29 – September 3, across Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat and digital audio, with the long edit available on BT Sport’s YouTube channel.
