Production company, Scoundrel, has launched with Tim Bullock and Michael Spiccia in its showcase plus executive producer, Adrian Shapiro, and producer, Ben Scandrett-Smith.
Bullock left Prodigy in May with plans to go solo in Australia, while remaining with Hungry Man in the US and UK. He hinted at the time that he was in the process of setting up a more permanent base in terms of a production company.
Meanwhile, he was been racking up more awards, a Bronze for Devondale Stepdad at the One Show, a Bronze AWARD award for Devondale Cat Lady and accolades for his Specsavers work, Bingo and Vet.
What sets Bullock apart? Maybe his approach? “It’s [filmmaking] an embodiment of a whole range of passions I’ve had in my life, from storytelling, music, acting, art – but the fundamental underlying thing is getting reactions out of people. Whether that is laughter, crying, being afraid, or shock, I like to affect people’s senses and I enjoy watching how their senses are affected. Filmmaking is the ultimate way you can do that, you can use visual, audio, and all manner of other elements to get reaction out of someone.” (interview with Leigh Morrison)
