It’s wonderful, actually it’s remarkable, that Selfridges has made such a true commitment to sustainability. How Selfridges is telling that story is even more wonderful, actually even more remarkable.
Wonderful because it underlines Selfridges’ position at the spearhead of pop culture (aka, everything that’s cool). Remarkable because it’s riveting.
The story is being told in a 2D animated film by Strange Beast directors, Anna Ginsburg and Hannah Jacobs. The narration is a series of grabs by Selfridges’ staff. The animation is exquisite and turns what is, in reality, a string of facts into a fascinating visual experience, that triumphs over its two tasks of illustrating both simple concepts and complex ones and making a corporate mission statement engaging, entertaining and “human”.
The film was launched by Selfridges’ own broadcasting channel, Hot Air, where it shares “things we love” and things it wants to talk about in fashion, beauty, radical luxury, arts & culture and inspiring change.
