Ben Sampson arrived home from San Francisco in 2017 to join The Monkeys as creative director. He is now creative partner at The Glue Society, which he describes aptly as “Australia’s most unpredictable creative and production collective”. Sampson’s entrepreneurial creativity should fit right in.
Sampson was lured to San Francisco to work on Fitbit at Argonaut as it progressed from launch to Apple rival. He also co-founded Sydney’s first and largest online fixed-price florist, Little Flowers and co-wrote the Sydney Writers’ Festival Memoir Prize-winning book, Schools of Fish, with his father.
Before Argonaut, he co-founded creative collective, The Idea Gallery, and won a Gold Effie for the global relaunch of Coke Zero. Prior to The Idea Gallery, he was founding partner of creative agency, which was named The Most Effective Independent Agency in all of Australasia by the Effies (2012) and Australian Creative Magazine’s Hotshop of The Year, and created Tontine’s date stamped pillow campaign, Virgin Money’s On The Card and Zuji Beans.
“Ben is one of those incredible creative people whose enthusiasm for ideas and originality is boundless and infectious. We have long been friends and it is fantastic to now have the opportunity to have him join us as an important part of the collective,” stated The Glue Society’s Jonathan Kneebone.
“He shares our ambition for the future – with the goal of doing all we can to support local and international agencies in developing more adventurous and effective communication art.”
In addition to Ben joining the collective, The Glue Society will be supporting four Rare Intern Applicants as part of their 2020 diversity programme.
The Glue Society recently celebrated its 21st anniversary – and was the most awarded Australian company at Cannes and Spikes this year.
