The Australia Day holiday, January 26, is controversial. That it represents “the birth of Australia” is inaccurate. The original Australians rightly call it Invasion Day. So, too, does a growing group of newer Australians, respecting that white people arrived in boats in the 18th century and took over the country.
For the second year in a row, former MI5 New York and Publicis Mojo writer-creative director, Philip Taffs, and art director, Jef Tan, have invited Australians to reconsider this “National” day through a fresh, more equitable lens.
