The Type Directors Club announced the Best of Discipline and Judges’ Choice winners in its TDC70 competition as well as a TDC70 winners reception and exhibition during Creative Week in New York.
TDC70 Best of Discipline winners are as follows.
- Communication Design: CANAL Magazine Issue 2 by Sunday Afternoon New York
- Lettering: BlockFace by Will Mower London with Open Press Project Cologne
- Type Design: Tabrizi Jali by Borna Izadpanah London
This year’s global jury of leading professionals from around the world also made their personal TDC70 Judges’ Choice selections from among all of this year’s winners. The selections will be highlighted in Typography 45: The World’s Best Typography annual alongside a write-up on why each judge felt the work deserved special honour.
All other TDC70 winners were announced last month, with The New York Times Magazine leading the way with five Certificates of Typographic Excellence. Tied with three wins each were Apple Design Team Cupertino, büro uebele visuelle kommunikation Stuttgart, Foreign Policy Design Group Singapore, G Design Studio Athens, Landor Paris, Milk Network Jeddah, and Pentagram New York.

As part of The One Club for Creativity’s Creative Week 2024 in New York, a special TDC70 exhibition of winning work and reception took place on May 14, from 7:00 pm-9:00 pm at Location05, 450 West 31st St, 7th floor. The exhibition is also open May 15-16, from 9:00 am-5:00 pm.
