Uncommon New York and Spotify are turning real users’ playlists into headlines. The OOH series, Playlist It, is running across NYC, Miami and Los Angeles, strategically placing the playlist headlines in places that give them extra context, or putting them together to give them an extra layer of real-world meaning, such as “Which one of you has a boat?” in Miami.

The campaign coincides with the launch of Playlist Notes, that allows users to add their thoughts and context inside the playlists they make. In addition, Spotify editors will use the feature to share the thinking behind their picks on some of Spotify’s biggest playlists.
The new campaign recalls Wieden + Kennedy’s 2017 OOH in San Francisco, Los Angeles and New York, that made the US smile at weird and wonderful user-generated playlist names such as “sorry I lost your cat”, “I don’t know how to make a playlist” and “global warming is real…let’s dance”.
