They’re fashion essentials if you want to be in with the in crowd. And they’re Wanda’s. They’re Damien & Leila de Blinkk and this is a glimpse of what they can do…
A hairdryer is a hairdryer. But creative agency, The House Worldwide, and production company, Wanda, have made ghd’s new Aura an object of desire.
The commercial’s story came from the idea that women need an excuse to replace their hairdryer. The House Worldwide created the excuse – women destroy their old ones. Wanda brought in fashion’s fave directors, Leila Namaan and Damien Laurent, aka Damien & Leila de Blinkk, to make the story enticingly stylish. The Blinkk duo added tension and intrigue into the story and attached ‘de rigueur’ to the product and voila, a fashion film every girl will want to watch and a hairdryer every girl will want to own.
The House Worldwide provided the clincher – a waiting list. Every fashionista wants what she has to line up to get.
Blinkk is a British photographic and filmmaking collective, with Damien and Leila at its core. The husband and wife are the fashion world’s darlings – the go-to duo for unconventional and inventive fashion editorial and advertising visuals. On their ‘calling card’are their unusual framing techniques and arresting images, and experimental use of light and colour.
