Remember when Possibilities bowled you over? “Damn, I wish I’d thought of that,” you said. A lot of you must have. A plethora of coach-talk narrator ads followed in its wake.
Wieden + Kennedy’s narrator has developed an even stronger personality. Now, he’s integrated himself into the ad. Which draws you, the viewer, into the ad too. Nike wants you to pay attention to its promise that you have unlimited potential whether you’re an everyday or a champion athlete and notice, too, the endless possibility of the Nike brand’s designs.
Unlimited launched as a long-form as online and a 60 second TVC on NBC’s coverage of the opening ceremonies of the Rio Olympics over the weekend.
The narrator is actor, Oscar Isaac. His script is superb. Watch what happens when he tries to get to the tagline:
The film was directed by The Daniels (Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert). Among the athletes in the spot are Mo Farah, Neymar Jr., Nyjah Huston, Serena Williams, Su BingTian, Zach LaVine, Aaron Gordon, English Gardner, Giancarlo Stanton and Kevin Durant.
