Warburtons’ wonderful storytelling format over the last few years, punctuated by a series of famous actors, has turned even a history commercial into riveting viewing. Joyful & Triumphant and Merman director, Declan Lowney, have brought in Morgan Freeman, to add his Courvoisier voice, as well as charm and wit, to a superb script in the baking brand’s 150th anniversary commercial.

The humour is delightfully sophisticated, the visuals are rich and the little twist at the end, when Freeman breaks through the fourth wall to ask what crumpets are, is memorable.

The work continues to stand out in a category that’s not always entertaining.
