Since 2010, Aussie mates and Foster’s brand ambassadors, Brad and Dan, have been handing out agony aunt advice to UK blokes about the really important things in life, like “Will my girlfriend end up looking like her mum?”
The Adam&Eve DDB campaign, Good Call has even added in a website, The Good Call Centre, so that blokes can get personalised video responses to send to truobled mates.
Brad and Dan have just released the 2014 campaign for Fosters lemon-flavoured beer called Radler.
Radler, aka Foster’s cut with Cloudy Lemon (It’s 2% ABV), made its debut last March. Total sales have already topped 17 million bottles. So this March, two new variants were added – a 2% ABV Foster’s Radler with Lime & Ginger and a 0.0%ABV version of the original Foster’s Radler cut with Cloudy Lemon.
Supporting this is a £10 million marketing push, with an Adam & Eve/DDB Brad and Dan spot at its centre. The boys (shirtless, of course) take on two women at beach volleyball. After winning a rally in spectacular style, the boys leave to grab a drink before being reminded that games don’t stop after one point.
Sarah Maddock, brand director-Foster’s at brand owner Heineken, said, “Given the sport-related origin of Radler-style beers – the product dates back to the 1920s when Alpine cyclists first drank the refreshing, lower-strength beer at rest stops – we couldn’t resist the opportunity to see Brad and Dan showcasing Foster’s Radler in a contemporary sporting setting.”
The spot is on air throughout the UK
