Ad stories don’t have to be epic to have epic power. BETC is the master of little stories that punch way above their weight. The agency and Bouygues Telecom won the hearts of the French over last Christmas with their awkward dad dancing to Redbone’s Come get your love. The ad collected over 150 million organic views and the soundtrack became the most Shazamed song in France over the Christmas period.
Now there’s a sequel. Equally human. Equally humorous. Equally relatable. Just as powerful at delivering its message about Bouygues Telecom’s role in family life.
The brand was recently recognised as the #1 mobile operator in French rural zones*, however, as the film shows, not everyone’s aware of that yet. So BETC created a scheming, but loving, grandmother who uses her teenage granddaughter’s ignorance to get her to spend some quality time with her.
The film was directed by Emma Luchini through Stink and set to the Elvis Costello’s take on Charles Aznavour’s famous song, She, which is also known as the soundtrack of Notting Hill.
