A tiny duckling dreams of being like his celebrity hero, Donald Duck. Lives, breathes and dreams Donald Duck – through his prized possession, a Donald Duck comic book. Sadly, when winter comes, the comic book is too heavy to take with him. But there’s always a happy ending at Disney. Besides, this is an ad for Disneyland Paris, whose tagline is Where Magic Gets Real, so the duckling is a metaphor for children.
Watch what happens…
If the emotive power of the story by BETC Paris – and the wonderfully human qualities of the duckling – are not enough to make Disneyland Paris this year’s top family destination, the film is underscored by a new rendition of the stirring classic, The Impossible Dream (The Quest).
The commercial is an evolution of the brand’s communication, moving towards the sort of universal storytelling that the Disney brand is known for – epic sagas blending love, humour and courage.
