TBWA\Australia chief creative officer, Evan Roberts, is leaving the agency on March 28 to launch his own creative start-up.
Roberts joined the agency five years ago for Clemenger BBDO Melbourne to take up creative responsibility across the group’s agencies including TBWA Sydney, Eleven, Fleishman Hillard, Fabric, Integer and Bolt content.
At Clemenger, he became known for creating Meet Graham, the striking campaign for Transport Accident Commission (TAC), featuring the only person who can survive on Australian roads, that swept up a prodigious collection of awards – a D&AD Blakc pencil among them; Snickers Hungerithm; and Airbnb Until We All Belong. These helped Clemenger’s global fame as Cannes Lions Global Agency of the Year and D&AD Global Agency of the Year, and Roberts’ fame as joint #1 Creative Director in Cannes Lions rankings in 2017.
At TBWA\Australia, Roberts led work for Heinz, Apple, mycar, Tourism New Zealand, Mastercard, and Pepsi Co and last year, the agency won clients such as Department of Defence, Kraft Heinz, and Goodman Fielder.
Roberts also spent six years at GPY&R Melbourne (now VML), rising to creative director and creating applauded work for Australian Defence Force.
