Forbes has just been signed by Curious Film in Australasia.
Curious Film’s managing director and executive producer, Kate Roydhouse, noted, “Lucy is fearless. Her visual style, clever, witty writing, hints of darkness and boundary-pushing ideas combined are a force to be reckoned with.”
“I see great creative work coming out of the best agencies in Australia and New Zealand, and I want to collaborate with the best creatives around the world,” Forbes added.
In My Skin is a darkly comic coming of age story about a sixteen-year-old girl whose mother has just been sectioned in a mental health facility. To deal with reality she tells lies – a lot of lies. It was named critics’ choice in The Observer and The Times.
BBC’s controller of comedy commissioning, Shane Allen, stated, “In My Skin cements our reputation as the broadcaster that takes risks on brand new cast, reflects the whole of the UK, backs new talent to the hilt and doesn’t mangle the author’s voice in the process.”
Forbes’ comedic skills have been injected into include the wonderful content film, Sniffers, for agency, Langland Creative and home STI testing kit, Confidante. This won a Cannes Lion, two Clios and a Webby.
She has also directed spots for Carphone Warehouse’s hugely popular Keith Lemon campaign with agency, Brothers and Sisters.
